What kind of violin music was composed in Finland in the 1920s, in the shadow of Sibelius? The works in this concert illustrate well the musical styles prevailing at the time. The Piano Trio by Helvi Leiviskä represents late-Romantic style, the String Trio by Erkki Melartin National-Romanticism, and the pieces for violin and piano by Väinö Raitio Modernism.
