“God, before you seal my mouth with the seal of silence, let me sing out the eternal longing of man”
In 2026, it will be 70 years since the death of Aino Kallas (1878-1956, née Krohn). Kallas’ archaic language paradoxically brings the age-old themes of humanity to the present day. The strong experience of womanhood makes the poems very universal.
Aino Kallas’ eventful life and poems that exude strength come to life again with words and music by Juha Hurme, Aleksi Parviainen and Marie Körkö.
The performance includes Aleksi Parviainen’s entire song series The Rain is Over (2025).
Juha Hurme, lecturer
Aleksi Parviainen, composition and vocals
Marie Körkkö, piano
The lounge buffet opens 1 hour before the concert.
