Italian composer and violinist Ottorino Respighi uses Shelley’s poem in his work Il Tramonto (Sunset), for mezzo-soprano and string quartet (1914), reflecting the enchantment of lost love and the beauty of nature. The concert will also feature beautiful, meditative music by Arvo Pärt and rarely heard works by Finnish composers.
